Bullwhips
This is a Made to Order Item - The photos are examples and not the actual item. Your finished product will vary according to your specifications and some creative liberty. No two whips are identical unless you are ordering a matched set.
All our whips are nylon. Nylon is a great material for whips as you get very similar performance to leather but it does not require the maintenance and break in period that leather whips do and it is normally much more affordable
Our 5 foot 16 plait nylon bullwhips have two plaited bellies under the overlay for three layers of plaiting. They have a 10 inch steel rod in the handle, a shot loaded core and an elasticized binding. We use high quality paracord and nylon sinew in the body of our whips and no vinyl/electrical tape. They are heavier than our 12 plait whips of the same length and track accurately. These whips crack smoothly with great flow and lots of energy. Bullwhips are measured from heel knot to the end of the thong, this includes the handle. All our whips come with 4 extra crackers.
The 5 and 6 foot bullwhips are great lengths for starters. We recommend 5 foot bullwhips for shorter people or smaller spaces and 6 foot for taller people or bigger spaces.
Additional length is an option by selecting 16 Plait Additional Foot in the Ad-Ons section of our shop.
Your whip will be made with the plait pattern and colors of your choosing. We make our whips with a black background/base color and an accent color, but if you want multiple colors, colors not listed or a different base color than black please specify when you order.
The handle will have an extension of the plait pattern or a diamond plait pattern unless you specify a specific design. A solid color handle is also an option. For an additional charge you can order fancy plaiting for the handle (see add-ons)
The heel of the whip can be finished with a wrist strap, capped with plain leather, coordinating gem, metal concho, or even a personal item (see “add-ons”). It will be finished with a wrist strap if you do not specify a preference.
We also started offering waxing as an option for an additional charge (see “add-ons). There are varying opinions on waxing nylon whips. It can improve the flow of the whips and adds additional protection, however it also adds some weight and can dull or darken colors. We love the feel of waxed whips and now prefer it for our personal whips.
Any items you see in our shop can be custom made with the lengths, colors and plait patterns you choose, or we can custom design something completely new to your specifications.

A note about buying whips:
Prices for whips vary greatly but you generally get what you pay for. Cheaper whips might look fine on the surface but skimp on the internal structure. They often have less plaiting and binding internally or are made with poorer quality materials. This can drastically affect their flow, accuracy, and how well they age. Whether you buy one of ours whips or buy from another seller please do your research and ask questions if you want a quality whip.
